About Browsers (3)

The above picture is a complete picture of the Internet Explorer browser displaying Yahoo's web page just like it appears to anyone who calls it up on any browser. Notice, the browser frame is the same as the Internet Explorer frame I showed you previously. Only the web page section in the middle changes as one goes from one web page to another.

The two things I want you to understand at this point are:

1. NO MATTER WHAT BROWSER YOU USE, THE WEB PAGES ARE THE SAME.

2. NO MATTER WHAT BROWSER YOU USE, ALL WEB PAGES ARE AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE.

Some ISP advertising implies that using their service gives you more or different internet. Not so. On the internet, anyone can get exactly what anyone else can get.

How do I get on the Internet?

Most ISP's use Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser to get you connected to the internet. The procedure for starting an internet session (logging on) varies depending on what software your ISP uses so I can't explain specifically how it works. But once you are set up for internet service, you will only be required to click an icon to log on and get connected. Few people have trouble with this and help logging on can be obtained from your ISP.
