Copy Cut and Paste (2)

By now you should be able to open your aunt Tilly letter. Please do that if it isn't open already. To see if it is open, look at the task bar. If the name Notepad is there that means Notepad is open so just click the task bar over the name "Notepad" to get it back into view.

Now place the typing cursor in front of the paragraph that starts with How is everything. You do this by putting the "I" beam at the beginning of the "H" and left clicking once. The typing cursor jumps right to it. Now move your mouse so that the "I" beam is out of the way.

Highlighting

Then hold down the Shift key on your keyboard, then while still holding it down, tap the down arrow key on your keyboard until two lines are highlighted as follows:

Copying

Now left click the Edit menu like you have done before to get the following:

Then left click Copy. At this point you think nothing happened, but it did. The two highlighted lines in the Tilly letter are now stored in what is called the clipboard. The clipboard is a place in PC memory where things are stored for later use. We'll paste our stored material right after "15th".

Pasting

Move the "I" beam mouse pointer right after the period following the word "15th" and left click once. The typing cursor jumps right to where we want it. Now go back up to the Edit menu again and click it to get the following:
