First open Notepad like I should you in a previous topic. If you can't do this you need to go back and review it. I'm going to show you how to write a simple letter to a fictitious person I call Aunt Tilly. First make the Notepad window maximum size by left clicking the box in the upper right hand corner of the window Notice the blinking vertical line in the right corner of the window.
That is the typing cursor. Before you start to type a letter to Aunt Tilly, you need to check to see if your version of Notepad is set to allow word wrap. Open the "Edit" drop down menu by left clicking the word Edit.

If there is a check in front of "Word Wrap" you're all set. If not click the first "w" in "word wrap" and a check mark will appear.
This feature, called word wrap, causes the program to automatically
wrap sentences that are too long to fit on a single line. All word processors are set up to
do this automatically, but Notepad is so primitive this feature
isn’t automatic on some PCs.
The names across the top File, Edit, Search and Help are names of dropdown menus. When you left click them, they drop down and display menu items you can select to do various things. We are going to do some of these things shortly. ALL WINDOWS PROGRAMS USE DROP DOWN MENUS similar to the ones you see here. Furthermore, all windows programs use "File", "Edit" and "Help" and these are almost always in the same spot as they are here. "Help" is always last, at the right end and "File" is always first at the left end. Now type the following (ignore the color. It only shows what I want you to type): Dear Aunt Tilly, Then hit the Enter Key to start a new line.
